Sustainability

Ceylon Star Holdings embraces sustainability, a multifaceted concept that pertains to the responsible and balanced use of resources to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It involves considering the environmental, social, and economic aspects of various activities and systems. We make our choices that align with sustainability principles. This includes choosing environmentally friendly products, supporting fair trade practices, and reducing waste.

We support protecting the natural environment, conserving resources, and minimizing the impact of human activities on ecosystems. This includes practices such as reducing pollution, promoting renewable energy, and preserving biodiversity. We believe in responsible recycling for ship-generated waste and converting it to usable products.
Our teams are involved in promoting social well-being, equity, and justice. This includes ensuring access to basic needs like education, healthcare, and clean water, as well as addressing issues such as poverty and inequality. We run several CSR activities throughout the year in terms of educational support to children and provide essential food items for families who are impacted by floods.
Ceylon Logistics supports and works hand in hand with government authorities to find sustainable solutions for industry-wide issues like waste management. Sustainability is often approached as a holistic and integrated concept, acknowledging the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic systems. Achieving sustainability involves making conscious choices at the individual, community, corporate, and governmental levels to create a more resilient and equitable world for current and future generations.
We set our targets for ESG which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, and it refers to a set of criteria or factors that investors, businesses, and other stakeholders consider when assessing the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment or company. Each component of ESG represents a different aspect of a company’s operations.
